Can u have two male hamsters in a cage at the same time?
By Jacob, June 4, 2012 @ 10:16 am
Hi, I just recently purchased a female Short Hair/Teddy Bear from you and she is doing GREAT!
By tropi26, June 4, 2012 @ 1:11 pm
Hi Meg, sometimes is does work out with two male hamsters together but not always. If you already have them together, I would have a second cage handy in case they start fighting.

Hi Jacob, glad to hear that your new hamster is doing great. Let us know if we can help you out with anything else.

Hi I was just wondering if hamsters are a good first pet? I have a 3 yr old daughter whose been beggin for a REAL puppy but we aren’t ready for that so was thinking something smaller! Do hamsters bite a lot? Do they like to be pet/held?
By tropi26, June 12, 2012 @ 11:10 am
Hi Mandy, hamsters can make great pets for kids. They are very social little animals who do very well with kids if they are handled properly. They can bite if they get squished to hard or if little fingers are very salty (they think its food). For smaller kids (typically 5 and under) I usually recommend guinea pigs. They are bigger animals for the smaller hands to hang onto and less likely to bite. I would recommend that you come in with your daughter and handle a few of the guinea pigs and hamsters and see how she does.

Yes ECB, we have a couple short hair hamsters available. Baby hamsters have been hard to come by lately so we don’t have a big selection but we would be glad to have you stop in and check them out.
