Turtles/Tortises
6-1-11
To our surprise our female box turtle has laid 3 eggs over the last 8 days!! With a lot of tenderly loving care and very specific environment if all goes well we should have babies in about three months! We are very excited and will keep everyone updated on their progress!

Do you sell live turtles? If so, what kind and how much are they?
By tropi26, January 4, 2011 @ 11:29 am
Hi Michael, yes we do sell live turtles. Right now we have a Russian Tortoise that is $139.99 and also a couple of Red Ear Sliders that are $26.99. Please stop in or give us a call if you have any questions on them.

Do you still have red ear sliders? I was also wondering if you have any other kind of turtle that stay smaller when full grown like a foot long and under?
By tropi26, March 10, 2011 @ 12:37 pm
Yes we do have several red ear sliders. We also have two land species, one is the Russian Tortoise and the other is the Three toed box turtle. The Russian can get up to 10″ and while the Three toed usually gets to about 5″

I have just aquired two quarter sized painted turtles. I was wondering if you kept turtle food, uv lamps and calcium blocks/powder. I have never owned a turtle before but it seems to be the general consensus that I will need these things. Please get back to me ASAP!!!!!!

Yes Mikale, we do carry all the necesary supplies needed for aquatic turtles and yes this equipment is needed to maintain happy, healthy turtles. Stop in and we can help you answer any further questions.

My mother found a turtle that we’re going to keep, it is only the size of a quarter. Do you have any suggestions for caring for a baby turtle?
By tropi26, May 14, 2011 @ 11:50 am
We carry all the necessary supplies to keep a baby turtle happy and healthy, just to skim the surface on caring for one you will need a heat lamp, uv lighting, and an environment that allows them to swim freely and bask out of the water. They need to be kept warm and require the uv to help process their food properly and to help their shell grow properly. Generally wild caught turtles do best on live food such as crickets and worms. Any other questions let us know, otherwise stop on in and we can show you the supplies we are talking about, it can get kind of confusing!

By Taylor, July 7, 2011 @ 7:23 pm
Hi, do you guys have any baby painted turtles? If so how much are they?
By tropi26, July 8, 2011 @ 2:12 pm
Hi Jen, A very rough estimate for a quote for a turtle setup would be around $150-$200. The equipment needed for an aquatic turtle includes a tank, filter, uvb lighting, heat, water conditioner, and something for the turtle to get out of the water onto. There are several different options with what equipment you can go which is the reason for my rough estimate.

Hi Tayler, we do not have painted turtles but we do carry red ear sliders that run $26.99 feach. The red ear sliders look very similar to painted turtles and their care is just about the same.
By Baileigh, September 24, 2011 @ 4:19 pm
I really like how you guys keep your Red Eared Sliders in that black bin (or whatever you call it!) and want to do something similar with my 2 Painted Turtles. Where did you/can I get the container and big filter? Thanks!(:
By tropi26, September 25, 2011 @ 11:51 am
Hi Baileigh, you can purchase the blk Pond here for about $150, it is not something we carry in stock this time of year so you would have to stop in and order it. An item like this would also require a deposit before we would be able to order it.

I need a cheap turtle for school i have a pretty good size tank and thats all how much could i pick up the habbitat for and the actual turtles?
By tropi26, January 31, 2012 @ 6:22 pm
Hi Tyler, the cheapest turtle we have is a red ear slider ($26.99). They are about 5-6 inches in diameter. What size tank do you have? You would need a filter, substrate, full spectrum lighting, maybe a heater, water conditioner, and something for the turtle to get out of the water onto. Stop in when you find out what size tank you have and we can let you know what all the accessories would cost.

What is the smallest size turtle you guys carry?
By tropi26, March 22, 2012 @ 4:20 pm
Hi Janessa, we can not sell any turtle or tortoise that is smaller than 4″ in diameter. We currently have ones that are in the 4-6″ range.

Hi could you list all of your tortiouses for me? And do you have red toe tortiouses?
By tropi26, May 21, 2012 @ 2:44 pm
Hi Michael,
We don’t carry alot of tortoises, currently have a russian. We have never had a red toe, but have had a red foot tortoise. If you are interested in getting a certain type of tortoise, let us know and we can put you on a waiting list and give you a call if one comes in.
