In 1974, Tropic Waters, Inc. opened a 960 square foot store. Three years later, Jim Reiman moved to Eau Claire to manage the store. Originally, the core product line included fresh and tropical fish along with all their necessary supplies. Parakeets, reptiles and other small animals were added in 1979 with the addition of 540 square feet. To meet the needs of our customer base, the store continued to grow through the years with the addition of many popular brands of pet food. In 1997, Jim purchased the store he had managed for the past 23 years and formed Tropic Waters Pet Center as a full-line pet store — featuring products and livestock. Since then, the store has continued to grow in response to customer demand. In 2003,  USDA licensed puppies became available for sale from Menning Enterprises. In 2007, Bark Avenue Salon, a pet grooming service was added.  In 2008, Tropic Waters Pet Center made it’s biggest change yet.  After outgrowing the store on E. Clairemont, we moved to our current location and expanded to 15,000 square feet.  Throughout its history, Tropic Waters has proudly been locally owned and operated.

Monday – Friday 10:00 am – 8:00 pm
Saturday 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
Sunday 11:00 am – 5:00 pm

    your ad in the Eau Claire leader says you can enter your pet into the perfectpetcontest.com however when you go to that website it brings you to we.tv and it says the pet contest ended in May? Is there somewhere else I should be going for this?

    I went to your website in hopes to find a employment or job application sheet. Where do I find it? I had visited your store earlier and they had told me to get the application online on their website.

    We only hand out application in store, I am not sure why someone told you to check online. When you go into the store ask for a manager and they can get you an application. Sorry for any confusion!

    We currently are not hiring but we do hold on to applications until the next time we hire.

    Hi Mandy, it is hard to say when we will be hiring again. It just depends on our employees availability. You can come and fill out an application, we do keep them on file for about 6 months.
