Store Pets
Over the years we have a accumulated a few pets of our own! They live with us at the store and all have become mascots for Tropic Waters Pet Center. Our longest living resident is “Romeo”, he has been with us for over 15 years! He is by far our oldest pet, believed to be over 100 years old! He is reaching retirement but will still occasionally pipe up with his version of “hello” and his popular laugh. So make sure if you come to visit you say “Hi” to Romeo and on a good day you just may get him to talk back. Many people have fallen in love with our dear kitty, C.C. Our old gray girl was dropped off in our store
about 6 years ago, the employees had to beg Jim to keep her and he eventually gave in. C.C. stands for Counter Cat with the hopes she would become a lazy greeter on our counter, but unfortunately she found other favorite spots around the store, either way we still love her the same! We aren’t for sure on her age since we weren’t given any background information on her. She is still with us at Tropic Waters but is now kept in our break room where she regularly begs for food! CC went to kitty heaven, but we still hold her in our hearts as our first cat for a store pet. Then we have best friends Leonard and
Mercedes. Leonard is a leopard tortoise and Mercedes is a green iguana. The live together in their cozy home a Tropic Waters. Leonard is about 10 years old and weighs in at 8lbs. He was given to us from someone who could no longer keep him, he is very relaxed laid back guy. He enjoys his weekly baths and making laps around his enclosure. Leonard will be missed immensely by Mercedes and many of us as he passed away days before Christmas in 2011. Many people believe Mercedes is a fake lizard perched up on her log, but once you get closer you can tell she’s real! She doesn’t move very often, going down to eat once a day and occasionally laying under her basking light. Mercedes is almost five feet long and is believed to be about 7 years old. She was given to us from a family who could no longer keep her. She loves to be scratched on the head and pet on her body, but beware she can get a little cranky sometimes(can’t we all?)! Our newest addition to the Tropic Waters family are Buttons and Pontiac. They are brother and sister domestic cats. They are 12 years old and very affectionate and playful still! They love all the attention they get from customers here, Buttons can frequently be found laying by the cat furniture, eating treats he shouldn’t be, or laying the counter. Pontiac is a little bit more shy and loves a less rowdy crowd but will come out to visit frequently. She is a sweet girl who will rub up against you all day long. Then somewhere between August and September Cinder found her way into our “forever” team, she was originally for sale but as we let her just run the store we soon realized she fit right in. She brings a lot of life back into the store as the older cats don’t play a whole lot. She can often be found claiming the top spot on the cat tree or watching the turtles swim around. The crew doesn’t stop there, February of 2011 we received a macaw, his name is Paco, we figure his age to be about 4-5. His first years of life were very traumatic, which really shape who a bird is. Paco, is not mean or crabby, but just misunderstood. He was never provided with proper care or interaction as a young bird. He does not fly or play with toys, and prefers to be left alone or just talked to over being held and pet. We are okay with this and have seen Paco become a lot happier since he has been with us. We have decided to keep Paco as a store pet until the proper home comes along. If you are interested in Paco and have large bird experience, please contact a manager at Tropic Waters to further discuss.

Hi Melanie, we do not carry rottweiler puppies. Your best bet is to check with the local vets in the area to see if they know of any breeders.
